On the chemistry page, I had downloaded an excel spreadsheet containing the required courses for the major. For lab requirements, I'm confused and wondering whether Chem 3010 and 3020 are required for the major.
You can satisfy the minimal core lab requirement by taking CHEM 2510 (2 credits) and CHEM 2900 (2 credits), for a total of 4 credits.
The total lab requirement is 8 credits. If you have completed the core laboratory requirement by taking CHEM 2510 + CHEM 2900, then you would have completed 4 of the required 8 credits of laboratory work; you would have 4 more credits of laboratory work to complete.
There are a number of ways to complete the remaining 4 more credits of laboratory work. For example you could take CHEM 3010 (Honors Experimental [Synthetic] Chemistry I, 4 credits). You could take an approved 4-credit laboratory course outside the department, for example BIOMG 4400 (Laboratory in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 4 credits). Alternatively, you could take a combination of outside laboratory courses totaling 4 credits; for example NS 3320 (Methods in Nutritional Sciences, 3 credits) plus EAS 3030 (Introduction to Biogeochemistry, 1 credit).
